Game Day: Wally Do’s Host Goon Squad

The Low Down: After a week of R&R, the Wally Do’s have returned to the arena today for morning skate and some pre-game discussion. Tonight: they take on the Goon Squad.

Team Scope: The Wally Do’s, hot off of a shutout win in their opener, are looking to extend their streak. The team spent some time practicing this week, and the club’s general manager expressed yesterday, “the boys are starting to play well together as a team, and we’re confident that the new chemistry will generate solid goal scoring.”

Meanwhile, the Goon Squad is looking for some redemption after a 3-1 loss to the Benders. With only four short games in regular season play, these early meetings are crucial. Nobody knows that better than their team captain who noted, “we recognize the importance of picking up wins in the regular season. We’re definitely going to have to come out hungry tonight and get some points if we want to secure a good playoff seed.”

Injury Report: Rumor has been circulating through the clubhouse this morning that star forward Tyler Lawson is suffering from a sore throat, and some chest congestion. In addition, he claims to have “hurt his hip” at the gym last night, getting some last minute conditioning in before today’s game. The team’s trainer has not been available for comment, and I suppose we’ll just have to wait until the boys step onto the ice tonight to see whether or not he is well enough to suit up.

Fan Zone: Once again, The Wally Do’s are hoping you will come out for the big game tonight. The puck drops at 7:35 PM MST at the University of Colorado Recreation Center. It is encouraged to bring a winning attitude, a loud mouth, noise makers, pocket flasks, boom boxes, flags, fireworks, exotic dancers and pit bulls for intimidation factor.
