Wally Do’s Open Season With Shutout Win

Tens of thousands turned out at the University of Colorado Recreation Center this evening to cheer on the Wally Do’s in their season opener versus the new-to-the-league Fragglestickcars. And the Wally Do’s did not disappoint!

In an interview after the game, Tyler Lawson noted, “we were a bit apprehensive in the locker room before the game, as we didn’t know what to expect from this new team. But as soon as the puck hit the ice, the weight seemed to lift and we skated our way to a hard fought 2-0 victory.” Despite the big win, team captain Henrik Lampert expressed some concern. “I’m definitely happy to get the win, but we looked real sloppy out there. We’re going to have to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to slow the play down… we were all over the place tonight.”

The team now has an entire week to rest, and they are looking forward to some practice. Co-Captain Patrick Westfeldt remarked, “we’re definitely going to get some ice time in this week, we’ve got to smooth out the bumps and make sure we’re in tip top shape for our game next week against the Goon Squad.”

Like Westfeldt mentioned, the Wally Do’s will be taking on the infamous Goon Squad next Tuesday at 7:45 PM MST. All fans are encouraged to come, and team member Brian Schroy would like to let the fans out there know, “if you show up next Tuesday to watch our game, an MTV crew will be there, and you can be on TV, so you should probably come.”
