Know anybody who is looking for a place to shack up in Boulder this summer? Maybe you need a place?
Well let me know, because you can live in my room, for an awesome price ($500/month), right on the hill, with five awesome dudes who like to party and have fun.
The Wally Do’s got creamed by Morning Wood the other day, and the season has thus come to an end. I would like to say, “thank you for nothing, Intramural staff, for combining the Open League with the A-League for playoffs.”
The Wally Do’s will be back in action again next Fall. Big ups to the team, you gave it your all this year, and I’m proud of you. And big thanks to the thousands of fans; without you in the stands, we’d be way less awesome.
The Wally Do’s came out blazing last night in their playoff opener, and defeated the Sigma Pi team 5-0. Here is what coach Patrick Westfeldt (who has recently been assigned to coaching position after being removed from the roster with a knee injury) had to say post-game:
“Well, first of all, I just want to congratulate the team on a fantastic win. It gives us good confidence as we move deeper into the tournament. I think the key for us tonight was our sound defense, and our puck movement. The Sigma Pi team had some fast forwards on the ice, and our defense was there to shut them down all night long… In addition, our team worked the puck around tonight like I’ve never seem them do it before. We were cycling the puck well, guys were moving their feet to get open… you know? And also, I must give some props to Carson, our goaltender, who had an outstanding performance tonight.”
We also spoke with the captain of the Sigma Pi team, and here is what he had to report:
“It’s definitely frustrating… I mean… well, yeah, I don’t know… like, I’m sort of lost for words right now. It’s never fun when your season ends, so it will take some time for us to get over it. But I guess we have lots to look forward to now… like, golf and lacrosse and stuff. And we got this pimp new beer bong with a 20 foot hose on it… so I’m looking forward to testing that out off our second story balcony, for sure. And we have our formal dance coming up… and oh yeah!.. I hear Lacoste is having a pretty big online sale later this month, so there is definitely a lot that will be keeping us busy, and allowing us to forget about this tough loss tonight.”
The Wally Do’s are back in action for Round 2 on Wednesday night at 9:45 PM MST. They face the power house Morning Wood, who is ranked first in the Open League after the regular season. So, come on out to the CU Recreation Center Wednesday night and cheer your little bootie off; the Wally Do’s will need your support.
The Wally Do’s kick off their quest for Intramural gold tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) at 2:20 PM MST. The game will take place at the University of Colorado Recreation Center. It’s free, and it’s a party… So load up your coolers, dig up that old American flag from the basement, purchase an air-horn at your local hardware store, or maybe a cowbell… rally the troops, and get on over to the rink to cheer us on. It’s playoff time, and we need your support. We face Sigma Pi in the first round. Also, you can see the bracket here.
And in other news, great win today for the Bruins! Way to fight back from that 2-0 deficit. You made us all very proud. Down with Buffalo!
The Bruins scored three shorthanded goals against the Carolina Hurricanes in one single penalty kill. The goals were scored in a sixty-four second stretch, and it was one of the greatest things I’ve ever witnessed in my hockey-watching career. Mega pimp.
